HARBORSIDE INDIAN WEDDING: Maya & Nilay

Jun

elcome back for Day 2 of Maya & Nilay's wedding extravaganza. We saw all the vibrant colors and dancing from their Sangeet night yesterday... Now it's time to share the big day with you. We began the day with Maya, in her suite at the Hyatt Harborside. The cool thing about Maya & Nilay's celebration was that even though it was a Boston wedding, it was really like a destination wedding for almost everyone attending. Nearly 99% of all family and friends were out-of-towners, including the entire groom's side. The team from Pink Lotus Events did a tremendous job making sure that each and every person felt like they were being taken care of, and that each guest was really treated like family.
Love these welcome-bag tags by Allure Invitations.. Such a warm welcome to everyone attending the big wedding weekend.
Maya was one of the chillest brides I've seen. She and Michelle of Demiche were just doing their thing... getting ready in a completely calm and serene way.
Maya - you are just too adorable. Look at the color on her gorgeous henna design by Henna Cafe. Nilay must really love you!!
Your smile literally lights up the room, Maya!!
Meanwhile, Amie was over with Nilay getting some of the groom's details.
This groom is here to play! Looking sharp, Nilay.
I just love love love when couples opt for a first look prior to the ceremony. It's just such a great way for the bride and groom to take a deep breath and spend some time together before the festivities begin.
Honestly, you guys are so lovable together. Mwah!!
Isn't she just the cutest thing?!
What I love about Maya & Nilay's chemistry is how they make each other laugh out loud. Happy couples make our job a breeze!!
Ms. Amie doing her thang and getting those candids!
Just taking a deep breath and soaking it all in before the madness begins.
Love you guys. Seriously!
Alright, are you ready for the most epic baraat in history?! First there was a boat...
... And Nilay's loyal fans cheer him on from the shoreline.
Then there was a choreographed performance.... I mean really!! Epic!!
The view from the harborside was just priceless. What a treat for all the out-of-towners.
And it wouldn't be a baraat unless Boston Sound & Light got the groom throwing his hands up in the air.
After settling in from the baraat, we begin the beautiful ceremony. The stunning bride.
Now let's bear in mind that Maya is the younger of two siblings. So when daddy gives his baby girl's hand to you in marriage Nilay, you better take it seriously.
No really... no joke!!
And as tradition states, he/she who takes their seat first upon the completion of the pheras shall rule the household. We have a clear winner here folks!
Nilay wanted to pretend he won for a hot minute there... but Maya just laughed it off.
Time for some bling!!
Loved this special moment that Maya had with her father. Dads just like to play it tough... but we all know they're softies deep down.
Congratulations Maya & Nilay. Now it's time to party!!
These party straws by Allure Invitations were a great way to kick-start cocktail hour.
Hand calligraphed seating cards by Megan Chapin Calligraphy.
Loved the bold jewel-tones that Maya chose for the reception.
Details, details, details. This is photography heaven folks!!
These two were all smiles throughout the night.
A heartfelt toast from the father of the groom.
With a little laughter sprinkled in-between.
And I want to go ahead and say that this dessert display by Cookie Creatives was THE HIT of the evening. Check out those personalized lollipop cookies, perfectly matching to the stationary used throughout the wedding weekend.
YUM YUM YUM!!
HA -- I believe her exact words here were "This is freaking phenomenal"!! That's our girl.
And of course Boston Sound & Light had the dance floor packed all night long.
There's always a super-star dancer in the crowd, isn't there?!
Congratulations Maya & Nilay. It was a honor working with you both and I'm just thrilled that our team was able to capture all the special moments from your wedding weekend. Best wishes for all the years to come!!

elcome to Day 1 of Maya & Nilay's magical wedding weekend. This beautifully colorful sangeet at the Hyatt Harborside was a great way to kick off the festivities. The team at Pink Lotus Events left no detail to spare. And of course, our couple of the hour looked stunning, as expected. The evening was a casual affair, and really reflected the relaxed nature of Maya & Nilay as a couple. Thank you so much for having our team be a part of this wonderful celebration!
We started off the evening working the waterfront area. How darn cute are these two together?
This is one of my FAVES from the entire evening. Much love to Michelle of Demiche for giving Maya those picture-perfect curls.
Details, details, details. Loved these cute little coasters by Allure Invitations.
Just love these vibrant colors. The floral design team at Pink Lotus Events really brought the whole look together so nicely.
The view from the Hyatt is just incredible. Look at that sky!!
Always lovely work by Manisha of Henna Cafe.
Maya & Nilay were like a super-star couple for the evening. The paparazzi just couldn't get enough of them!!
Time for some fun games... Questions about their dating history. This could go one of two ways folks!
Maya you are just stunning...even when you laugh out loud.
Turns out that Nilay is quite the dancer. Dancing with the Stars ain't got nothing on this crew!
Boston Sound & Light had the fists pumping and the crowd going wild.
Oppa Gangnam Style!!
What a way to kick off the weekend. The energy in the room was incredible, and the dance floor was packed until the very last song!! Stay tuned tomorrow for part 2 of Maya & Nilay's beautiful wedding day.

RENAISSANCE WEDDING: Nora & Michael

May

I
t was a day filled with love and laughter. From the beginning, Nora & Michael have had their priorities straight regarding the wedding day. It's been about good friends, good food and making each moment count. From the their first look, to their vows and until the last dance; Nora & Michael couldn't have seemed happier to be tying the knot.

Nora & Michael: thank you so much for having myself and Natalie be a part of your most important day! It was an honor to capture your wedding. Best wishes for all the years to come! Happy Thursday.
I started the morning in Nora's suite at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel, working through some of the lovely little details she had chosen for the day. The magenta Kate Spade shoes added such a brilliant pop of color to Nora's ensemble. And the rings were a wonderful set of family heirlooms. Michael had inherited his wedding band from his grandfather, and Nora's from her grandmother. What a wonderful way to hold onto tradition! OH and as for the turtle... well Nora and Michael have a very near and dear pet turtle that they've shared for years. Well the turtle didn't come to the wedding, but he was certainly there in spirit.
Loved this dazzling invite from Wedding Paper Divas.
The pops of magenta throughout the day were such a fun surprise!! What a great way to celebrate the day.
Thanks to Nora's impeccable planning, I had a few moments to capture some solo shots of her all dolled up!
You are breathtaking Nora! Michael is one lucky man... but I'm guessing he already knows that!!
I was so excited that Nora and Michael had opted for a first look prior to the ceremony. It's just the perfect way to start the day.
Stephanie's Floral Design did a beautiful job with Nora's bouquet and all the flowers for the day.
It was a bit of a brisk day on the Northern Avenue Bridge, but Nora and Michael were troopers about it.
What you don't quite see yet in the photograph is the fact that Michael is wearing a full leg brace under his tuxedo. Poor guy mangled his leg in a ski accident just months before the wedding. Thanks for playing along Michael.
Nora - I just love the way your wild curls capture that sunlight! I could have shot this all day long.
You both look simply stunning!! AGH!!
Doesn't that magenta just pop oh-so-well on the ladies?! Big props to Charlotte & Company for glamming up all the bridesmaids.
Those peonies are just popping all over the place! Thanks Natalie for getting these details.
Ok so there might be a slight height discrepancy among the guys here... but Michael is still the groom, and it's still HIS day!!
I'm sure the guys wouldn't appreciate me saying this -- but how adorable are the socks! Seriously?!
And here comes the moment we've all been waiting for!
Nora and Michael had a close friend of their officiate the ceremony.
Officially husband and wife!
And so the festivities begin....
This was by far one of the most incredible things I've seen at a wedding. For the love all all things New England, Nora hired Pat the Patriot to surprise Michael and make an appearance during their grand entrance. Seriously -- talk about GRAND! Needless to say, Pat was a HIT.
And the gang from Sweet Tooth & The Sugar Babies seriously held it DOWN for the night.
They had the crowd going wild.
UM YEAH -- talk about some seriously musical energy!!
And of course the evening wouldn't be complete without the lead guitarist doing the limbo underneath the groom's cane!! Just another Saturday night folks.
Congratulations Nora & Michael. Your wedding was a blast, and thanks again for having a be a part of the special day. Best wishes for all the years to come!!

CINEMATIC SAME-DAY EDIT: Davina & Matt

I
t was a weekend beyond their wildest dreams. Davina & Matt's 2-day wedding celebration at Wequassett Resort & Golf Club was seriously epic. The weekend was filled with colorful festivities, the warm faces of close friends and family, two wedding ceremonies, and on-and-off thunderstorms. Needless to say, there wasn't a single dull moment during this event.

I've known Davina for years now, which is why I'm even more humbled than usual to have had the honor of capturing the special weekend for her and Matt. Our entire team had a wonderful time, and it is with great pleasure that we presented their same-day edit during the reception. A special thanks to my friend David Long for joining our team this weekend and working under pressure to bring this video to life!! Hope you enjoy. Happy Tuesday!!

CINEMATIC SAME-DAY EDIT: Maya & Nilay

I
t's been a fairytale weekend with Maya & Nilay. From their colorful sangeet night to their sparkling reception celebration, Maya and Nilay were beaming with such happiness. I couldn't be happier to have had the honor of working with such a wonderful couple, and it is with great pleasure that our team put together their same-day edit which was shown during the reception.

I love, love, love producing these films for our wedding clients. There's just so much excitement in the air when the bride and groom, and all of their close friends and family gather up onto the dance floor to watch a film of the ceremony and morning festivities. Hands down, a solid set of spirit fingers goes out to my entire video team for hustling all day long to make the same-day edit come to life! Thank you, thank you. Here's a look at Maya & Nilay's same-day wedding edit. Enjoy. Happy Tuesday!
