T
hey usually say: the darker the brides henna turns out, the more he loves you! Well if that's the case, then Sachin must love Neetu to the moon and back; because I haven't seen henna this dark in quite some time! How can I even begin to describe the magnificent celebration that was Sachin and Neetu's wedding. The day was filled with personal touches, bubbling emotions and of course, style! Two of the most exciting details of the day were Neetu's necklace and hairpiece. Both were passed down through the generations by her great-grandmother. I just love the intricate detail of the peacocks in the necklace. And Neetu's hairpiece was originally a nose-ring once upon a time. Neetu had some special hooks put in so she could wear it as a hairpiece instead. How fabulous!

We started off the morning with the wedding at Neetu's family home. The mandap and decor was provided by Shagun Design.

A little bling, bling!

Like I said, the day was filled with special touches. Neetu had special ordered fresh Jasmine flowers from India for her sisters/bridesmaids. Each person got to wear a string of Jasmine in her hair. I just love the smell of Jasmine in the air. So relaxing. And back to Neetu's ah-may-zing henna... designed by none other than the super talented Manisha Trivedi.

I love when couples put a little extra thought into their first look. It's so important to have that special time alone in the morning. A time to breathe, relax and enjoy the fact that you're getting married! We met Sachin at a trail near Neetu's family home. The anticipation was so exciting.

I love this shot - Neetu's reaction during the first look. Thank Nicole for grabbing a wonderful moment.

A quiet moment!

Oh Neetu - you kill me with that gorgeous smile.

Another couple of great shots from Nicole.

A final moment alone before we ventured back for the wedding ceremony. Honestly, Neetu and Sachin couldn't have picked a better place!

After Neetu walked down the isle, they exchanged this beautiful glance. Precious!

Neetu - you have a smile that can light up a room!

Sometimes I feel like a stalker, because I wait for moments like this during the ceremony.

Moments where the bride and groom feel like there's no one else in the room but them!

Sachin is about to offer Neetu a necklace.

And the ring exchange.

Neetu is very stylishly fashioning the nose-ring turned hairpiece.

Neetu and Sachin's first few steps as husband and wife!

And they end the ceremony by offering each other something sweet to eat! Love this!!

After the ceremony, we ventured over to Mechanics Hall for the reception.

Yummy cupcakes and be-dazzled place cards.

The grand entrance was definitely grand. I couldn't believe how quickly Neetu transformed her look from day to night.

Sachin's sister was a riot during her speech and slideshow.

I think the newlyweds agree!

The family had put together a super-thoughtful slideshow on the big screen for Neetu and Sachin to enjoy.

Here's Nicole's view of the show.

While I was downstairs capturing this priceless look on Neetu's face.

Sachin's sister and her husband had also put together a dance performance with a few other friends. They totally rocked the dance floor.

And DJ Dash got the crowd going on the dance floor. Sachin is a HUGE dance fanatic - and clearly he was ready to celebrate!

You know it was a good night when it ends like this! Thank you Neetu and Sachin for letting me into your lives and being a part of your celebration. You had an amazing day, and congratulations. Happy Friday!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. For the most part, this blog is a collection of my work, ideas, inspirations and things I've learned. If you're a bride & groom: sit back, relax and soak it all in... until your fingers get pruny! If you're a photographer: I hope you can take away something insightful from what I've learned about turning my passion for photography and cinematography into a career.
