O
ver the past several weeks, I've been rounding up with my team on some really fun shoots. As Amie and the rest of the gang take on a stronger associate role this year, we've been in prep mode for the wedding season. You know... getting our ducks in a row, so to say! I have to admit, considering we were coming out of a relatively quiet winter, I was totally blown away by what my ladies pulled out their cameras. I'm talking some killer images! I'm so excited and proud to have Amie, Natalie and Corinn on the photography team, and can't wait for Maureen to come back from Taiwan and join us soon too! Our first team shoot took place on a rainy Saturday morning! I was really, really bummed out about the rain that day. But Jennifer at the Massachusetts Horticultural Society at Elm Bank totally hooked us up with a rainy day backup plan. Honestly, I'm so thankful to the entire team that helped to bring this shoot together. They're an incredible group people that I'm lucky to call my friends in this industry. Ok, enough with the Kumbaya and onto the good stuff....

We approached the day as we would any wedding... starting with the details. Remember, it was a dark, rainy day and we were working with very little window light. Come to think of it, it was probably a blessing in disguise to be working under a worst-case-scenario type situation. Here you can see we've got the dress pressed up against one of the few windows in the room.

And here's a beautiful shot of the dress that Amie captured. Thank you Jeanine for the stunning gown!

Natalie was working the 2nd shooter role, capturing some of the finer details.

And Corinn was keeping an eye on Megan, while the uber-talented Liz Washer dolled her up with a fabulous airbrush makeup look! Check out those bold cheeks!!

Megan is a local wedding photographer I met at a recent PUG. I can't thank her enough for being such a wonderful sport during the shoot. Megan, you are simply radiant!!

And a huge thanks to her dashing husband Greg for coming along too!! How handsome does Greg look in these shots that Corinn took?! Megan, you're one lucky gal.

Once Megan and Greg were all gussied up, we staged the first look. I was positioned to capture Megan....

While Natalie and Corinn captured the look on Greg's face!

We then moved into what would normally be the formal portrait session with the bride and groom.

Amie totally took the lead here with posing and direction!

And then she captured THIS.... omg, one of my favorite shots from the day! Amie, you totally rocked my socks with this shot.

I was secretly kind of excited to play the part of 2nd shooter while Amie took the lead for the day. It gave me the chance to capture some more candid moments.

And as usual, I probably blurted out with some corny jokes here... Loved these shots by Natalie.

Now that Megan was all warmed up, she was ready to strut her stuff SOLO! Here's Megan totally working it for Amie.

And while Amie worked her magic, Corinn snuck around to grab this beautiful black & white shot from behind!

Megan... you are just beautiful. You are totally rocking out this incredible hairstyle designed by Maricruz.

Oh Greg, we didn't forget about you!!

Seriously, could these two be any cuter?!

OH.EM.GEE! Enough said.

And I love that Corinn and Natalie both embraced their 2nd shooter roles to capture these two incredibly unique and beautiful shots. You ladies are amazing.

And as we brought the portrait session to a close, of course the sun began to pour in through the window!! Such is life. Hey, but at least we learned to roll with the punches! Thank you Megan and Greg for a wonderful day together. You guys make teal chairs look GOOD!

And then it was off to capturing some decor and detail shots. A huge thanks to my gal pals at Gracie Lou Events and Rentals Unlimited for a little help and inspiration on this table. Watermelon & teal... who would have thunk it?!

And in perfect coordination with the color theme, Mara of Allure Invitations put together the perfect little escort cards for us.

Lindsay of Wicked Good Cookies created these adorable custom confections for the shoot. Each cookie had a special love print on it. So creative!

And a huge thanks to Erica from Orchids N' Bloom for whipping together these gorgeous florals. Truth be told, I gave her very little time or direction... and she delivered like a total pro. Thank you!

This was my first attempt at putting together a shoot of this kind for my team, and I couldn't have been happier with how successful it was for all of us. It would not have been possible without the help of so many amazing friends and colleagues... thank you everyone! Happy Wednesday.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. For the most part, this blog is a collection of my work, ideas, inspirations and things I've learned. If you're a bride & groom: sit back, relax and soak it all in... until your fingers get pruny! If you're a photographer: I hope you can take away something insightful from what I've learned about turning my passion for photography and cinematography into a career.
