I
t's been nearly a decade in the making. The love story of Nishi & Harinder started back in college. She was a giddy freshman. What started off as an innocent crush, soon blossomed into their beautiful love story. The adventures of medical school, residencies and masters degrees have kept these two apart for so many years post-college, but still their bond remained strong. Unwavering. And you can just tell, that both Nishi and Harinder were so sincerely excited to finally be together forever on their big wedding day. They celebrated the wedding with a dual Hindu-Sikh wedding ceremony, honoring the traditions of both their families. Major kudos go out to Nishi for orchestrating this complex celebration. There were so many things to consider and rituals to be considerate of, but she pulled it off with high style!
Congratulations Nishi & Harinder. Your celebration was beautiful, and we had a ton of fun with you guys along the way too! Thanks for having such an inherent trust in our ability, and never once questioning our process or, more importantly, my crazy ideas!! As a result of really giving us creative freedom for the day, you guys really ended up winning in the end. Thank you, and best wishes for all the years to come.

I won't lie... we started this day EARLY. Like 2-hours-before-sunrise kinda early! But thanks to our handy video lights, we made these details shine!

Nice job with the bling bling Harinder!

Nishi had the mostly beautiful and elegant touches to her wedding ensemble.

Seriously girlfriend -- the sun is barely up and you're looking gorgeous!! Jealous.

While Boston Sound & Light" target="_blank">Goka Love dolled up Nishi from head-to-toe, it was super-sweet to see Nishi's mom and sister in the bridal suite with her as they helped her with the finishing touches.

Meanwhile, Amie was hanging out with Harinder as he had an authentic Sikh turban being tied.

So handsome he is!! And as a tradition, the ladies of Harinder's family added on some of the final touches to the turban.

It was only 8am, but it was time to get loud and get dancing!!

A full-fledge baraat was underway.

I wouldn't expect anything less from the team at Boston Sound & Light. These guys can get anyone dancing. Any time of day.

Seriously a party.

During the welcome rituals, both moms had a full-on HUG FEST!! So heartwarming to see the love.

As the Hindu ceremony begin, Nishi's mom welcomed her soon-to-be son-in-law in traditional Hindu style.

And here comes the gorgeous bride.

Both families approached the mandap to bring together the bride and groom as husband and wife.

They take their first steps towards becoming officially official.

And it looks like Nishi won the battle of 'he who sits down first shall rule the household'. Clearly!!

Love this quiet moment. Just taking it all in.

After the Hindu ceremony was over, everyone shifted over to begin the Sikh rituals.

This was our first Sikh ceremony, and I have to say that it was just so calm and peaceful. These guys just ooze serenity!

And of course there's the sword.

Another fleeting moment. You guys are freaking adorable together!!

And with a final bow, the Sikh ceremony came to a conclusion. Congrats... you just got married twice!!

But whisking the bride away isn't that easy! Nishi's girlfriend and family were there to make sure that Harinder knew what a precious part of their family he was getting!

No so fast!! You might be my new son, but she was my daughter first!!

After a little sweet talk...

... And a little negotiation...

They finally made a deal. Woot woot!!

After the ceremony we ventured off-property for our photo session. Harinder was pretty excited about the Porsche.

Finally -- a moment alone.

It's so easy to see how genuinely happy these two are together.

WOOP... watch out now!

And here's one of my favorites from the day.

He makes her smile... well he kinda makes himself smile too... so I guess it all works out.

MWAH!

We then had the girls and the wedding party join in for a little fun.

Hello sexy ladies!

The guys wanted to get a bit more rowdy than the girls... so we let them!!

And OMG -- 18 people in this wedding party, and somehow we made it work. It's so easy to see why you both have a tremendously wonderful group of friends that are so close you both.

After a quick outfit change, we geared up for a second round of photos before sunset.

SHUT.THE.FRONT.DOOR. You guys are killing me.

Harinder was taking quite the liking to his bow tie!! Definitely an LOL moment.

You guys looked just stunning for the evening festivities. Just stunning!

I loved the beautiful color palette that Nishi chose for the evening decor.

And HOLD UP. Now that's a grand entrance!!

So in love during their first dance!

And I just had to add this photo into the blog post, because Nishi's mom gave THE EPIC mother-of-the-bride speech. Nearly brought me to tears.

Well there were definitely some hilarious moments in the speech too!!

But see -- it's not just me being a sap. The speeches were definitely heartfelt too.

And it wouldn't have been Nishi & Harinder's wedding without a night of non-stop dancing.

OOOHH... he's going Gangnam Style folks!! Watch out sexy ladies.

And I'll end on this note here. This pretty much sums up the amazing day that was Nishi & Harinder's wedding. A day filled with love, laughter, celebration... and Nishi & Harinder were on top of the world!! Happy Wednesday.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. For the most part, this blog is a collection of my work, ideas, inspirations and things I've learned. If you're a bride & groom: sit back, relax and soak it all in... until your fingers get pruny! If you're a photographer: I hope you can take away something insightful from what I've learned about turning my passion for photography and cinematography into a career.
